Murder of Matthew Burns
Matthew Burns (c. 1976 – 21 February 2002) was an Irish murder victim.
==Background==
A native of Castlewellan, County Down, Burns was a self-employed joiner. He neither smoked nor drank, scorned drugs, was a fitness disciple, and kick-boxed with the Northern Ireland tae kwon do Academy, where he was held as one of its most promising practitioners. He was a participant in a campaign to have tae kwon do listed as an Olympic sport, and hoped to compete in the Olympics himself.
